Obituary for Jacob Hill Sr.
Jacob Hill, Sr., 85, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021. He was born April 26, 1935 in Redrock, Florida, to the late Lee & Ortonce (Telfan) Hill. Jacob was a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
Jacob love to sing. His favorite song was “Walk With Me Lord”. He was also the last surviving member of the original gospel group called the Milton Hormoneers. Jacob’s hobbies were master gardening and farming. Jacob constantly gave tips on planting crops and tilling the land. His funny sense of humor to make you smile will truly be missed.
Mr. Hill learned the trade of roofing. He owned his own roofing company with his brothers. He worked as a roofer until his health failed him. The Hill Roofing Company was well known in Santa Rosa County area.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his two sons: Jacob Hill, Jr (Terri) of Madison, AL, Norman Hill (Samantha) of Newnan, GA and two daughters: Veronica (Anthony Sr) Crute of Harvest, AL and Elizabeth Taylor of Thomasville, GA; two brothers: Nelson (Alice Hill), Henry Hill all of Milton, FL; five sisters: Pearlie Harris, Stella Hill, Alberta Hill, Dorothy Hill all of Milton, FL and Roxanne Budweg Hill of Minneapolis, MN; eight grandchildren: Antwoin Davis, Anthony Crute, Jr all of Harvest, AL, Jacob Darnell Hill of Madison, AL, Darold (Torri) Kennedy of Stone Mountain, GA and Kayla (Dwayne) Barnes of McDonough, GA, Christian Jordan of Newnan, GA, Aaron Slydell, Stacey Holden all of Thomasville, GA; seven great grandchildren: Rylee Hill, August Hill all of Nashville, TN, and Jahmarcus Barnes, Jamal Barnes, Jakori Barnes, Stacia Barnes all of McDonough, GA and Yali Slydell of Thomasville, GA.
Due to the coronavirus, Jacob Hill’s Home Going Graveside Ceremony will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at The Hill Family Cemetery, Munson Highway, Milton, FL at 2pm. Public viewing is schedule on Sunday, 12:00am-1:30pm at Trahan Funeral Home Chapel, located 6539 Trammel Drive, Milton, FL. Note: CDC guidelines will be enforced.
