Neely
Obituary for James L Neely
Mr. Neely was educated in Salsbury, NC. He enlisted into the U.S. Navy on March 3, 1953 and retired on March 17, 1974. Shortly after, he was employed and retired by Monsanto for 20 years.
Brother Neely was a faithful member of Susan Street Church of Christ. He was married to his loving and devoted wife, Betty Jackson Neely for 62 years.
He was preceded in death by: his brother, Lester Neely and his son, James D’Arcy Neely.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife; his loving father, Noah M. Wiseman; his brothers, Noah (Johna) Wiseman II and Noel (Sharon) Wiseman; his children: Beverly (Bruce) Harris, Kenneth (Cynthia) Neely, Harold Neely, Randy (Audrey) Neely, and June Neely-Williams; Karen (Ron) Holloman, Latonia Walker, Danny Neal, Genie (Fredrick) Glover, and Dominic Nixon; his devoted sister-in-law, Pearl (Wayne) Hodrick; four brothers-in-law: Joe (Rose) Jackson, George (Anne) Jackson, Dave (Bert) Jackson, and Kent (Cat) Jackson; and a host of loving and supportive grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until funeral service begins at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Trahan Family Funeral Home, Milton Chapel.
