Rodney E. Logan
1963 – 2017
Rodney Earl Logan, 53, of Pensacola went home to be with the Lord on April 18, 2017. He was born on December 14, 1963 in Phoenix, AZ.
Rod graduated from South Range High School in North Lima, OH. He went on to graduate from the Police Academy serving as a police officer prior to becoming a Corrections Officer at federal prisons in Ohio and California. Rod proudly finished his career at Pensacola Federal Prison Camp, where he was two years from full retirement.
Rod attended Hillcrest Baptist Church. He was a true disciple, who loved to witness to anyone. Many times, when Rod was out with his brother Don, Rod would stop to pray or witness with anyone who he felt needed him more than the current course they were on.
Rod was a Sergeant-At-Arms for the Christian Motorcycle Association, Pensacola; he was an active Free & Accepted Mason; a Clown known as “Classy’ with the Aut Mori Grotto and was recently elected as President of Lake Estelle Home Owner’s Association.
Rod loved music any place any time, in fact, he was a professional drummer at a young age. Rod was also a great dancer. He was a perfectionist, very meticulous, and very serious even when joking. His word was his bond; something he learned from his Uncle Don.
Rod loved motorcycles, particularly Harley Davidsons; he was a marksman with an extensive gun collection.
Rod’s love for his country and the American flag were limitless.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Wright Reed; father, Donald Logan, Sr. and Uncle Don Wright, Sr.
Rod leaves to cherish his memories: his brother, Don (Mary) Logan, Jr.; nieces, Chelsea Dawn Logan, Makenzie Mae Logan and Taylor Elizabeth Logan in addition to numerous friends from the East Coast to the West Coast.
Rod was a true man of GOD, whose million-dollar smile and laughter will be missed by everyone.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until celebration of life begins at 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 28, 2017 at Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CMA (Christian Motorcycle Association) in Rob's name; mail to: Maranatha Riders, 4890 Randee Circle, Pensacola, FL.
