Dawn Elise Morgan passed away unexpectedly at her home in Milton, Florida July 13, 2017, at the age of 62.
Mrs. Morgan was born August 1, 1954 in Providence, Rhode Island, to Russell Norman Perry, Sr. and Joan Arlene Perry. She graduated from Foley High School in 1973 and married her high school sweetheart William Mike Morgan on January 22, 1974.
Dawn was a devout Christian and active member of My Father’s Vineyard Church. As a young woman; Dawn wrote a poem about her lord and savior that included the phrase: “When I am in your presence I feel like I can fly”. In her own words, she is now “soaring in the heavens being taken away by his spirit in a place where he may bless her and make her new”.
Dawn was well known for her kindness and compassion. She placed the needs and valued the feelings of others before herself. Dawn always had a sympathetic ear and offered love, encouragement, and support to others. She was quick to smile and find the positive in any situation. Dawn will sincerely be missed by all who had the great fortune of knowing her.
She is preceded in death by her father, Russell Norman Perry, Sr.
She is survived by her husband William Mike Morgan, son Michael Morgan and daughter-in-law Niki Cox, of Milton, Florida. Survivors also include her Mother, Joan Perry and siblings Debra Crossley, Denise Spoor, Russell Perry, Jr, Brad Perry, Kathy Brockett and Brian Perry.
Dawn worked for over 20 years as an account specialist for multiple banks and car dealerships. While following her husband in his Navy career to the Philippines, Dawn dedicated herself to performing mission work serving as an educator and mentor to children.
Services will be held at Trahan Family Funeral Home at 419 Yoakum Court, Pensacola at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 25,2017. Interment of ashes will be at Barrancas National Cemetery Pensacola, Florida.
