Edward Gandy
Edward Gandy
January 31, 1922 – October 26, 2017
Edward Gandy, 95, of Pensacola, FL went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 26, 2017. He was born to Frank and Annie Hubbard Gandy on January 31, 1922 in Garland, AL.
Edward always loved the outdoors and farming. The farm work he helped with was for his family and he loved it. Edward had also, served his country in the United States Army; and later, retired from the Civil Service. He served his Lord through his faith and lived his life by it. He was a true Baptist, and loved the Lord, attending his home church in his youth, Mt. Rose Baptist Church in Alabama.
He now walks alongside his Lord with his loving wife, Augusta Baldwin Gandy; a darling son, whom was a gift from God that was short lived; and his sisters, Cora, Mattie, and Essie.
His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his sister, Annie Lucille (LeRoy) Jackson of Pensacola, FL; two brothers, Samuel Gandy of Atlanta, GA, Frankie Lee Gandy of Baltimore, MD; a VERY special nephew and nieces, George Robinson and Ola May Robinson, Josephine Walker of McKenzie, AL ; special nieces, Mary Black and Cheryl Ghee of Raleigh, North Caroline; A VERY special Goddaughter, Betty Baldwin and her husband Samuel Baldwin of Whiteville, NC; one special great niece, Alice Marie Robinson and her daughter, Karen Marie Robinson; and a host of special nieces and nephews.
Edward had stayed with his SPECIAL niece and nephew, George Robinson and Ola May Robinson in their home in Pensacola, FL until his departure to his new eternal home. Also, his SPECIAL great niece, Alice Marie Robinson, her daughter, Karen Marie Robinson, two very special nieces Mary Black and Cheryl Ghee played a very special part in his care making his last stretch as happy and comfortable as possible.
A visitation will be held at Trahan Family Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2017.
On Tuesday October 31, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. the military rites will be performed at Barrancas National Cemetery in honor of Edward Gandy and his prior service to his country.
