Amelia Louise Hattaway Harvell Josey
Amelia Louise Hattaway Harvell Josey
June 8, 1946 – March 5, 2018

Amelia Louise Hattaway Harvell Josey, 71, of Pensacola, FL went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 5, 2018. She was born to her loving parents, Fonzie and Edna “Louise” Hattaway on June 8, 1946 in Pensacola, FL.
She had grown up at 2 Boland Place with her family. She attended school at Allie Yniestra Elementary, Blount Junior High, right across the street, and Pensacola High School. Later in life she attended Pensacola Junior College to further her education in Dental Assisting. She had worked many devoted years at the Pensacola News Journal; she was, also, an Adjunct Instructor at Pensacola Junior College in the Dental Assisting Program, and finally retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield, currently known as Florida Blue.
Amelia was a devoted servant of the Lord and lived her life through the word of God. She was a lifelong member of Brownsville Baptist Church and New Beginnings Baptist Church. She loved her family and friends dearly as well as she was loved dearly. She will surely be missed by all who came to know and love her.
She now walks alongside the Lord with her mother and father, Fonzie and Louise Hattaway; son, Jeff Harvell; four brothers, Bill Hattaway, Bobby Hattaway, Danny Hattaway, Terry Hattaway; mother-in-law, Claudia Harvell; and father-in-law, Joe Harvell.
Her memory now and forever lives on in the hearts of her son, Joe Alan Harvell; daughter, Traci (Steve) Kaderly; daughter-in-law, Pam Harvell; eight grandchildren, Houston (Bailey) Harvell, Gabby Harvell, Savanna Perry, Sarah (Larry) Scapecchi, Matthew Harvell, Katie Harvell, Courtney Kaderly, Brooke Kaderly; and five great grandchildren, Brantley Harvell, Waylon Harvell, Jeffery Perry, Paislee Perry, Sophia Scapecchi; and numerous extended family and dear friends.
The family would like to give a special thank you and recognize two sweet souls for their kindness in Amelia’s final days, Sue Lowrey and Joe Harvell.
Pallbearers include Houston Harvell, Matthew Harvell, Trent Grice, Larry Scapecchi, Nick Williams, Kris Way, and Mason Compton.
A Service will be held to Celebrate Amelia’s life on Monday, March 12, 2018 at the New Beginnings Baptist Church at 4:00 p.m. The family will begin receiving guests at 2:30 p.m. Amelia will be laid to rest in Atmore, AL alongside her mother and brothers at a later date.
In Lieu of flowers, Donations may be made to New Beginnings Baptist Church or to the Gabriel House of Care- 4599 Worrall Way Jacksonville, FL 32224. The Gabriel House of Care was very kind with Amelia when she had stayed there for her Liver Transplant in 2014.
