Sammy Grice, Jr.
September 26, 1954 – March 21, 2018
Sammy Grice, Jr., 63, of Pensacola, FL was born on September 26, 1954 to the late Samuel and Millie Grice. Sammy was called home to rest on Wednesday, March 21, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sammy and Millie Grice; one sister, Christina Grice; one brother; David Grice; and one niece, Kenteyonna Anderson.
Sammy loved playing baseball and retired from the Pensacola Strap Yard. He was a member of New Birth Baptist Church under the lead of Dr. Floyd Peacock.
He leaves to cherish his memories his beloved wife, Dorothy Grice; one son, Christopher Grice; two daughters, Della Grice and Aaliah Grice; two stepdaughters, Reney kitt and Darlene Kitt; Five grandchildren, and sixteen step grandchildren; thirty-seven step great grandchildren; three brothers, Henry(Miriam) Watson, Edward Watson, and Joseph(Jeanette) Grice all of Pensacola, Florida; two sisters, Catherine(Omar) Harrison and Maryann (Rev. Karry Brown); two sisters-in-law, Ethel Grice and Barbara Hodges; one brother-in-law, Apostle Harold Hodges; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
A service will be held in honor of Sammy’s life at Trahan Family Funeral Home on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. The family will be receiving guests at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
