Dolores “Polly” Salter was born in Summerdale, AL on March 1, 1936 and became an angel in Heaven on April 24, 2018.
She drove a school bus in Pace, FL and cared deeply for all her kids. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmaw, and friend. She would lend a hand and help anyone in need any time of day or night. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and loved her.
She was preceded in death by: her mother, Vivian Hixon Littlefield; father, William “Luck” Wainwright; along with multiple siblings.
Survivors include: her daughters, Denise (Tim) Turner and Lisa Wilson; son, Blake (Eileen) Grimsley; grandchildren: Blake II (Stacey) Grimsley, Clint Orion (Brandy) Grimsley, Jill Lynn Campbell, and Katie Ann Garrison; great grandchildren: Sydney Danielle Grimsley, Sierra Makenna Grimsley, Angeli Reanne Campbell, Rachelle Ann Partridge, Kamron Robert Grimsley, Sean Alexander Grimsley, and Baylen Breanne Grimsley; nieces and nephews, Tammy (Kimo) Kouns, Jerry Lane, Jim Lane, Cookie (JW) Stokes, Alice (Ric) Butler, Joyce (Woody) Watkins, and Tammy (Tony) Llorens; and many more who were greatly loved.
Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton, 6539 Trammel Dr., is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the funeral home with Brother Donald Leavins officiating.
Burial will follow at Elizabeth Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Blake Grimsley II, Orion Grimsley, Donny Ward, Jim Lane, Kamron Grimsley, and Sean Grimsley.
The family would like to give many thanks to all the caretakers at Emerald Coast Hospice and all the nurses and doctors at Santa Rosa Hospital and Pruitt Rehab.
