Obituary for Patsy M. Day

Patsy (Mitchell) Day, age 69, of Brewton, AL went to be with her Lord after fighting a long battle with cancer on May 12, 2018 surrounded by her family. She has been a resident of Brewton for 41 years.
Patsy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. Patsy had many talents. She was an outstanding cook and seamstress. She had a love for music, dancing, and the outdoors. She enjoyed fishing and hunting. Patsy had a passion for helping others, and worked at West Gate Nursing for 20 years as a Nursing Assistant until she was diagnosed with cancer last year. She previously worked at Judy Bond for many years.
Patsy was born on August 27, 1948 in Electic, AL. She grew up in Pensacola, FL and attended Pensacola High School. After high school, she moved to Jay, where she ultimately met her husband, Charles.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Durwood Gerald Mitchell and Agnes Brown Mixon; daughter, Barbara Day Floyd; and brother, Charles Ricky Mitchell.
She is survived by: her husband of 40 years, Charles “Chuck” Day; two daughters, Angie (Keith) Stanton and Cathy (Don) Eagle; two sons, Charlie (Amanda) Day and Chris (Tabitha) Day, ten grandchildren: Megan (Scott) Lowhorne, Cassie (Evan) Garris, Kevin (Ashten) Stanton, Brenna Wolfe, Kaitlyn Day, Hannah Day, Austin Day, Ben Williams, Noah Floyd and Hunter Day; and three siblings, Jerry (Suzi) Mitchell, Donny (Judy) Mitchell and Peggy Mitchell.

A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Cornerstone Christian Church,
14047 Alabama St, Jay, FL. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Cornerstone Christian Church with Rev. Frederick Barrow officiating. There will be no graveside service but she will be buried at Gay-Lindsey Cemetery.
