Dallas Lee "Chris" Christenson

Pensacola - Dallas Lee "Chris" Christenson, 95, of Pensacola passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018.

Chris was born October 15, 1922 and raised in Kanarado, Kansas until joining the United States Navy in 1941. During his years in the Navy, while stationed here in Pensacola, Dallas met and married his wife of 68 years Florence Virginia Salter Christenson. After leaving the Navy in 1947, Dad joined the United States Air Force serving during WWII, Korea and Vietnam, achieving the rank of Master Sargent. Once retired from the USAF, Chris went through apprentice school and worked in Building 604, NARF, Naval Air Station Pensacola, retiring after 20 years of Civil Service. Not staying idle long, Chris decided to go back to work and began teaching Machinist Class at George Stone Vocation School and Pensacola Jr. College. Upon retiring for the third time to try the life of leisure once again he decided this wasn't for him. He then went to work at Walmart on Mobile Highway as a greeter in the Garden Center, leaving a few months short of reaching his 10-year anniversary to devote his time to care for his wife. Chris was also a member of the Pensacola Baptist Temple.

Chris was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Virginia Salter Christenson, his parents Charles H. Christenson and Fay Farber Christenson, and brother Eugene Christenson.
