Patricia Ann Lackey
January 17, 1934 - November 4, 2018
Patricia (Pat) Ann Lackey, 84, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018, at Covenant Care Hospice in West Florida Hospital, Pensacola, Florida. She was surrounded by the family she loved so much.
She was born to Paul and Edith (Bond) Radomsky on January 17, 1934, at Philipsburg State Hospital, Centre County, Pennsylvania. She was raised in Hawk Run, Pennsylvania, and surrounding towns while her father worked in the coal mines and her mother worked as a seamstress. She graduated from Morris Township High School in 1951 and moved to Washington D.C. to attend Capital School of Nursing. She chose to leave nursing school due to her father’s illness and death in 1954. She remained in Washington D.C. where she met and married Charles (Chuck) Eugene Kehoe on January 5, 1957, at the Shrine of Sacred Heart Church. In 1958, Pat, Chuck and their infant daughter, Sharon Ann, moved to Charles’ hometown of Pensacola, Florida. Pensacola would become Pat’s forever home. They had three more daughters, Deborah Lynn, Linda Lee, and Patricia Faye.
She had many careers in her life including working in an Architecture firm, working for AT&T, doing construction clean up, and being a seamstress just to name a few. Her main career was as a Letter Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. She loved her job and the people she met along her route in the Brownsville area. She retired on a disability due to her arthritis.
Pat had a zest for life and had many and varied interests. She was an avid bowler during the 1960’s and 70’s and competed in local league and national tournaments with the Women’s International Bowling Congress (WIBC). In her later years, she took up darts and poker. She played on the Sleepy Hollow Dart Team for several years. She could also frequently be found playing poker at the little neighborhood establishment. Approximately four years ago, she placed second in a Texas Hold’em tournament while onboard a Carnival Cruise. Pat also enjoyed reading, music, going to plays, traveling, sewing and just generally living and celebrating life.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Ernie Kington; and great grandson, Patrick Rodgers.
Pat is survived by her four daughters, Sharon Thames (Charlie), Deborah Hancock (Jimmy), Linda Kington, and Patti Freeburg (Dennis) as well as 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 7 great, great grandchildren.
